Description

He was 5 feet 7-1/4 inches tall, and had a fair complexion, hazel eyes, and brown hair (9).

During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 20 August 1861 (1, 9). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Colonel Reiff (9). He served in company C (1).

On 7 May 1863, he was reported missing in action (4). On 29 or 30 May 1863, he was reported regained from missing in action (7).

On 6 October 1863, he was reported regained from missing in action (8).

He reenlisted as a veteran volunteer (1).

On 28 September 1864, he was detailed by General Griffin for duty in the provost guard at division headquarters (2, 6).

On 24 June 1865, he began a furlough, which expired on 9 July 1865 (5).

On 3 July 1865, he was promoted to corporal, effective 1 July 1865 (1, 3).

He mustered out on 10 July 1865 with his company (1).

After the war

On 19 [?] March 1872, Maggie M Worl (daughter of JP and AM Worl) died, of cyanosis (13). She died at, or was buried from, 504 New Market Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (13). She was one day old (13). She was buried at Mount Peace Cemetery (13).

He died on 26 July 1872, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of "consumption lungs" (11, 12). When he died, he was a last maker (11). He was buried on 29 July 1872, at Mount Peace Cemetery (11).

On 13 August 1890, his widow, Annie M Worl, successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension (10, 12).
