Collins, Jerry R.
1st E-Mail: Date Saturday, May 14, 2011, Ar: 7:36 PM PSTime Hi fellows, I was pleasantly surprised to run across information on 144. My name is Jerry R. Collins and I am in the group photo with you. Would love to hear from you all. I will return message when I hear from you and let you know what i have bewen doing in my life since I left The Marines. Jerry R. Collins, E-Mail: cjerry65@gmail.com 2nd E-Mail: Date Monday, May 23, 2011 At: 6:37 PM PSTime Great to hear from you Paul. Hope more and more responds and that we get more emails. It sounds like you have had an eventful life since leaving the corps. I think there were a lot in 144 from the Kansas and Missouri area. I recall the final check up on Walnut Street in Kansas City before we flew straight to San Diego when all the "fun" began. Like I said , a large number in this group was from that area. Some of you may remember me boxing at the "smoker" and I played on the MCRD football team. One of the games I really got clobbered in and remember waking up in the Balboa Naval Hospital. After the Corps I got into pro wrestling at the urgeing of Sonny Myers who was quite a star around the St. Joseph, Missouri area. After making a fool out of myself in this racket, I got into something more stable for my future. I went to work at The Kansas State Penitentiary, Lansing, Kansas. About 3 years before my retirement from the prison I bought into an old fashioned under the big top circus . After retirement from the prison I went into the circus business full time and traveled througout the Midwest. I have slowed down a bit and now do the bookings and advance marketing for 3 different shows. I presently live in Leavenworth, Kansas. I have 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. Hope to get more email from the fellows. Who knows, one of you might live up the street from me. Jerry R. Collins, E-Mail: cjerry65@gmail.com |
