Edward
Prise Dies at Age 72 |
| Edward H. Prise,
72, who lived with his daughter, Mrs. Edwina
Yates, apartment 27C, Samuel Gompers Homes , died
at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Veterans hospital,
Jefferson Barracks, where he had been a patient
three days. He had been ill for a year. Mr.
Prise, a retired moulder for the Wescott Valve
Co., East St. Louis, was born in St. Louis and
had lived in East St. Louis 55 years.
Prise served in
Cuba during the Spanish American War, and was a
charter member of the Nelson A. Miles camp of the
Spanish War Veterans.
Funeral services
will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday in the Robbins
Chapel with burial in the National Cemetery,
Jefferson Barracks.
In addition to his
daughter Mrs. Edwina Yates, he is survived by two
sons, Clarence and Virgil Prise, both of East St.
Louis and five grandchildren.

| Funeral services
for Edward H. Prise, 72, apartment 27C, Samuel
Gompers Homes, will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the

Jefferson Barracks. Mr. Prise, Spanish-American War

Prise was born in
St. Louis and had lived here 55 years. He was a
