| Frank Acardi Sr.,
past eighty years of age, a native of Italy and a
Civil War veteran, died at 2:30 oclock on
Monday morning at his residence at 107 East
Johnson street. The funeral was conducted at 3
oclock Wednesday afternoon from the
residence to St. Johns cemetery. Mr. Arcardi was born in
Vigone, Italy, in young manhood he came to
America, settling in this vicinity. He was
married February 9, 1870, to Miss Frances
Million, and to this union seven children were
born. These were Frank Jr., and Tony of
Collinsville, Joe and Louis of Belleville, Mary,
Celie and Rosie of Collinsville. Rosie died nine
years ago, and the others survive, with eighteen
grandchildren. Mrs. Acardi died twentythree
years ago.
Mr. Arcardi served
three years in the Civil War and was honorably
discharged September 9, 1865.
