Lieut. Dorris LaRue Hoga,
U.S. Armored Tank Corps, died in Italy on March
5, after being wounded in battle according to
word received yesterday by his parents, Mr. And
Mrs. Henry Hoga, Troy road.A telegram from the War
Department was received by his wife, who resides
in Uniontown, Pa., and she phoned the information
to his parents here. No other details of his
death were given.
Lieut. Hoga had
been serving overseas for the past 15 months and
was in both the African and Sicilian campaigns.
He had been in service for three years. He is a
graduate of the Collinsville Township High School
and the University of Illinois and before his
enlistment was employed by the Washington
National Insurance Company.
He is survived by
his wife, parents, two brothers and a sister. One
brother, Dale, is serving with the Army Signal
Corps in New Guinea.
