Body Arrives Monday Night – Funeral Thursday

Pvt. Frank Quatto

Frank Quatto aged 28 years, died of influenza and pneumonia at Camp Custer, Battle Creek. Mich.,at 5 A.M. Sunday. He had been ill a week and was a patient in the base hospital for four days.

Accompanied by a fellow soldier, the body was sent here, arriving Monday night. The funeral was conducted Thursday, and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery.

14th Division "Wolverine Division"Quatto was born and raised here, the son of John and Katherine Quatto. He lived with his mother in Lochman addition and worked as a coal miner at Lumaghi mine no. 3. He was drafted to Camp Taylor on May 29 and was sent to Camp Custer.

He is survived by his mother, one brother, Joe of Collinsville, and four sisters, Mrs. Lena Vercellino and Mrs. Emma Giocoletto of Collinsville and Mrs. And Mrs. Mayme and Mrs. Lizzie Tonalla of St. Louis.
