
Solomon Slayback, Jr. was born August 08, 1793 in
New Jersey and died in Collinsville, Madison
County, Illinois in December 1871 and was buried
on the 31st of December 1871.Solomon's first wife was
Phoebe Day who was born in about 1794. They were
married on 16 April 1818 in Hamilton Co., Ohio.
She died on January 25 1819 in Butler County,
Ohio and was buried at St. Mary's (Springdale
Presbyterian) Cemetery.
It is believed
Solomon and Phoebe had one son born about January
1819, and that Phoebe died shortly after his
birth, but nothing of this son has yet been found
to confirm this.
After Phoebe's
death, Solomon married Ella "Elly"
House. They were married on the 21st of December
1820 in Butler County, Ohio. Elly was born 26 Dec
1800 in Madison Co., Virginia and died in
Collinsville shortly before her husband. She was
also laid to rest in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Solomon and Elly
may have had one other son, Abraham Slayback, who
was born in 1841 in Butler Co., Ohio and died on
the 13th of February 1896 in Burlington, Boone
County, Kentucky.
