Solomon Slayback, Jr. was born August 08, 1793 in New Jersey and died in Collinsville, Madison County, Illinois in December 1871 and was buried on the 31st of December 1871.

Solomon's first wife was Phoebe Day who was born in about 1794. They were married on 16 April 1818 in Hamilton Co., Ohio. She died on January 25 1819 in Butler County, Ohio and was buried at St. Mary's (Springdale Presbyterian) Cemetery.

It is believed Solomon and Phoebe had one son born about January 1819, and that Phoebe died shortly after his birth, but nothing of this son has yet been found to confirm this.

After Phoebe's death, Solomon married Ella "Elly" House. They were married on the 21st of December 1820 in Butler County, Ohio. Elly was born 26 Dec 1800 in Madison Co., Virginia and died in Collinsville shortly before her husband. She was also laid to rest in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Solomon and Elly may have had one other son, Abraham Slayback, who was born in 1841 in Butler Co., Ohio and died on the 13th of February 1896 in Burlington, Boone County, Kentucky.
