The funeral of Bartholomew
Vujtech, who died December 30, was held Sunday
afternoon, from the late residence on Main street
in Collinsville. Burial was in the Glenwood
cemetery. Mr. Vujtech was 73 years, 4 months and
5 days old at the time of his death, and was one
of the pioneer residents of Collinsville, He was
associated with the early building of the city
and came to own considerable property in the
business portion of town. He served with
distinction during the Civil War and was a member
of the Samuel T. Hughes Post, G.A.R., which
attended the funeral in a body. Mr. Vujtech is survived by
his wife, Dora, and six children, Mrs. Annie
Lemen, Mrs. Mary Skala, Mrs. Lottie Bullock, and
Frank, Joseph and William Vujtech. Among those
from out of town who attended the funeral Sunday
were: Mrs. A.H. Miller, Josephine Kohler, Mrs.
Vitta Thio, Mr. and Mrs. W. Tureck, and Misses
Emma and Dora Miller, St. Louis; Mrs. Julia
Worker, Effingham, Ill.
