Pvt. John F. Crinnion (1879-1943)
Private John Francis Crinnion, pictured here in October of 1898 at Camp Wheeler in Huntsville, Alabama, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 24, 1879.

He enlisted as a private in Company C, 15th United States Infantry, on August 6, 1898 at St. Louis and served until 1899. He was honorably discharged at New York, New York on May 16, 1899 and is honored here as the ancestor of Eugene T. Beals.

He died on October 9, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri and was laid to rest at Calvary Cemtery in that city.

Note: The Cuban Occupation Medal, shown above, was issued to all officers and men who served in the Army of Occupation commencing after the surrender of Santiago until May 20, 1902. The Ninth Illinois Infantry served in the Army of Occupation.
