| Jose
Sanchez (Perniz) in abt 1894. He was in
the Spanish army as a soldado from 1893
to 1904 and fought against the USA in
Cuba in the famous battle of San Juan
Hill. He was born in Calasparra,
Murcia, Spain February 12, 1874. He is
the son of Joaquin and Antonia Sanzhez
also of Calasparra in the Province of
Murcia, Spain.
He died at
age 84 on October 4, 1958 in the Stockton
CA State Hospital of heart failure. He
suffered from late onset Huntington's
Chorea. He was known as a very religious
man and had lived 41 years in Niles,
California, now a district of Fremont.
