| Arthur S. Jenks,
age 82 years of 600 North Morrison Avenue, passed
away on Saturday, March 30 at 5:30 a.m. He had
been in the hospital for the past 15 months, in
ill health for the past two years. He founded the A.S. Jenks
and Son Painting firm which his son Richard now
operates, but retired about eight years ago. He
was born in St. Louis, Mo. On March 19, 1875.
He was a
Spanish-American War Veteran and was a member of
the Holy Name Society of the SS Peter and Paul
Catholic Church. The Rosary was recited by the
Holy Name Society on Monday at 8:00 pm. He had
been a resident of Collinsville for 53 years.
Funeral was from
Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home Tuesday, April 2nd
at 8:30 am to the SS Peter and Paul Catholic
Church for Mass at 9:00 a.m. Internment was in
the Catholic Cemetery. Rt. Rev. B.N. Manning
officiated. Pallbearers were John Biver, John
O'Hara, William Bugger, Joe Carr, George
Bernhardt and Raymond Arth.
Mr. Jenks is
survived by his wife Mrs. Anna M. Jenks, one son
Richard L. Jenks, Sr., one brother, Frank Jenks
of Chicago, Ill, one grandson, Richard L. Jenks,
Jr., and one great grandson.
