| Arthur Nicholson,
who has made Collinsville his home for 45 years,
died Wednesday, December 4, at 2:40 p.m. at his
home, 346 Aurora street. Mr. Nicholson was born on March 20,
1877, in Springerton, and was 69 years old upon
his death. He was employed as a filter operator
for the Chemical & Pigment company.
Funeral rites will
take place on Saturday, December 7, at 3 p.m.
from the Schroeppel Funeral home, to St. John's
cemetery for internment. The Rev. Percy Ray will
officiate.
Survived by his
wife, Mrs. Sophia Fix Nicholson, he also leaves a
son, Earl Nicholson, of St. Louis. Three brothers
Edgar, Springerton; Charles, Pierce Station; and
Roy, West Frankfort; also survive as do three
sisters, Mrs. Florence Phillips, Springerton;
Mrs. Nellie Smith, West Frankfort; and Mrs. Lora
Dellow, Anna. A little granddaughter, Nancy
Nicholson is also left.
Mr. Nicholson was
a veteran of the Spanish-American war and a
member of the United Spanish War Veterans, John
D. Miley Camp No. 75, Belleville, which
organization will participate in the rites.
