Military Order of the Serpent Officer Title Definitions
Generously contributed by George Kane (2005)

Supreme Lair Officers (National)
  • Supreme Gu Gu Grandississimo - Commander in Chief
  • Supreme Datto Sr. - Vice Commander in Chief
  • Supreme Thrice Infamous Inferior Gu Gu - Secretary / Adjutant
  • Supreme Lord High Keeper of the Sacred Amphora - Treasurer / Quartermaster
  • (4) Supreme Slick and Slimy Keepers of the Ophidian - Council members
These eight (all are elected) comprise the La Junta National or Council of Administration

SGGG appoints:

  • Supreme Abogado de Nacional - Judge Advocate General
  • Supreme Mabalasig - Supervises the conferring of the Bayani Degree
  • Supreme Zamboango - Slaves Aid-de-Camps

All of these become Past Officers after their office expires. All of these officers use Initials after their name instead of the office name. Supreme Gu Gu Grandississimo becomes SGGG, etc.

The grade of Past Supreme Gu Gu Grandississmo may also be conferred at the discretion of the Order. In order to be conferred PSGGG (without actually being elected and serving as SGGG) the member must have served on the La Junta Nacional for at least 3 years in one or more offices. This was rarely granted. From 1904 to 1926 there were only 3 conferred as PSGGG.
Grand Lair Officers (Department):

Same as Supreme Officers except substituting Grand for Supreme. La Junta Nacional becomes La Junta Grande

The Grand Lair of Oregon (1924) had a officer called “El Grand Escribidente”

Local Lair Officers:

Same as Supreme or Grand but without those words (example Gu Gu Grandississimo)

On the local level there were a lot of minor officers including:
  • Chief Ladrone
  • Ungodly Villain
  • Thrice Dulcet Yawler of the Jungle
  • Insidious Thumper of the Sanctified Sheephide
  • Lord High Compellor of the Sacred Bull Cart
  • Dog Robber to the Unhallowed Loat
  • Depraved Pangula
  • Master of the Electrical Effects and Custodian of the Royal Serpent.
  • Keeper of the Sacred Virus
  • El Capitan of the Exhilarating Virus
  • Lord High Keeper of the Bolo
Most of these were characters in the ritual. At this local level Datto was split into the following:
  • Most Highest Datto
  • Most Higher Datto
  • Most High Datto

Cities were called Barrios and states / departments were called Provinces.
