Full muster record for Isaac Evans/Evens:  age 38 at enlistment; height 6' 1"; "other" hair; blue eyes; light complexion; single; occupation miner; born in Franklin county, Missouri; at time of enlistment, residing in Franklin county, Missouri; enlisted October 2, 1861; mustered in on December 17, 1861, at Pacific, Missouri by a Captain Harper (not from the 26th); Promoted to 1st Sgt. Oct. 1, 1862

A military headstone was placed near his grave near Union, Missouri.  He died in June 4, 1870. The stone was made by Sheldon and Sons of West Rutland, Vermont.  The order was placed August 21, 1888. ¹
