Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France Warloy-Baillon is a village about 21 kilometres north-east of Amiens. The first British burial took place in the Communal Cemetery in October 1915 and the last on 1st July 1916. The Extension was used from this point on and although the fighting on the northern part of the Somme from July to November 1916 accounts for the majority of the burials. There are now over 1,000 Great War casualties commemorated in this site which they share with a small number of Second World War men. |
