This site is dedicated to the people of Thurmaston, Leicestershire, England,

who served their nation in two World Wars.

The site records the names of those who served during the First World War, 1914-1918,

and the Second World War, 1939-1945.

In 2014 a book is to be published that commemorates all those associated with Thurmaston that participated in the Great War. The book is not restricted to those persons who gave their lives, but to those who rendered their services in some way or another.

Each person will be represented by a small sympathetic biography, which will be as full as the available written historical records will allow. The author would like to contact anyone who may have photographs of Thurmaston people who are known to have served during the war.

The author would also like to contact anyone who can identify the persons who are recorded as W. Brown and R. Hill. on Thurmaston War Memorial.
