Araminta Ward, widow of Isaac J. Ward Pension Increase
H. R. 28119. Araminta Ward, aged 63 years, is the widow of Isaac J. Ward, who served as a corporal and sergeant in Company I, Fourteenth Regiment Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, from November 10, 1861, to January 31, 1865 (3 years 3 months).

Soldier was pensioned under act of June 27, 1890, at $12. He died February 2. 1908; he and pensioner were married May 18,1871. She is pensioned under act of June 27, 1890, as amended, at $12 a month.
Dr. M. E. Combs, January 13, 1913, declares that applicant is afflicted with organic heart trouble, and such is the condition of her heart that death is likely to occur at any time; her stomach is in a very bad condition, and she is unable to work for her support.
The physician and a neighbor testify that pensioner owns no property other than a dower interest in a fourth acre of land, upon which she and her son live; her income is her pension; further, she is rarely able to leave home on account of her physical condition.
An increase to $20 a month may be allowed.
