THE BLUE AND THE GRAY

I had two brothers once
Warm-hearted,bold, and gay,
They left my side- one wore the blue,
The other wore the gray.

One rode with Stonewall and his men,
And joined his fate to Lee;
The other followed Sherman's march
Triumphant to the sea.

Both fought for what they deemd the right,
And died with sword in hand;
One sleeps amid Virginia's hills,
And one in Georgia's sand.

The same sun shines upon their graves,
My love for them must stay;
And so upon my bosom lies
This knot of blue and gray.

Our new 14th KY Infantry Graves Database is a work in progress. Much of its success depends on the help of family members and descendants of 14th KY Infantry soldiers, as well as on the support of interested individuals to share their information about burials sites with us.

If you would like to contribute, please e-mail me or write to:
P. O. BOX 142, Blaine, KY 41124-0142.

Your information will be added to the database as soon as possible. Pictures of the gravesites are also most welcome.
Please note what type of marker is one the grave [private or military] or if the grave is unmarked. Should you be interested in placing a military marker on a 14th KY soldier's grave, please contact me for details.

The 14th KY Graves Database is arranged alphabetically, by last name of the soldier.
