Webmaster's notes:

Note: Sometimes Louisiana soldiers enlisted in other states.

If you find your relative on this web page and have a photo (or a better photo) of them, I would be glad to add it. Additionally, notes sent in by web site visitors providing further information on these soldiers (for example: date of birth, birthplace, parent's names, date of death, location of death, and burial location) will be added to the entries on this page. Please tell me how you are related to the soldier that you are providing more information about and send the scan of the photo and information to: (I won't be accepting email probably for the rest of the year because I'm very, very busy! I have been swamped with requests.).

Note: No parishes were listed in the book, however, I used the US County Resources at RootsWeb (Find the County for a U.S. Town or City) to find out what modern-day parish a particular city was in. When searching for any city that starts with "St." use the completed spelling "Saint". You need at least two letters in the search dialog box.

To find parishes of cities not listed try viewing these:

USGS GNIS - query form - Select "Louisiana," "populated place," and type in the city name in the "feature name" dialog box, or type in a parish (county) name in the "County Name" dialog box for all cities in that parish.
